What is Screen protection?
The need for enhanced scratch resistance and screen protection of the screens created the demand for usage of screen covers of increased resistance including chemically hardened glass. And these need has been since touchscreen displays are growing larger in recent years.
Corning’s Gorilla Glass is a popular brand of hardened glass used for high-end handset in the mobile industry.
What is Gorilla Glass?
Gorilla Glass is a glass made from a material called alkali-aluminosilicate, which is formed by bonding aluminum, silicone and oxygen together. Gorilla Glass won’t make your smartphone or tablet unbreakable. Everything depends on the version of the Glass and a few other factors as well, like thickness. Therefore, it would be best to think about it as a technology that protects our cell phone’s display from deep scratches and scrapes.
